We kicked off the morning with breakfast at the hotel before heading over to our lecture at 11:00. This was one of the highlights of the day: a talk by Prof. Fabian Bernhard on “Are SMEs Ready for AI? An Impact in Our AI Management Lab.”

His session was engaging and down-to-earth. He talked about how small and medium-sized companies are starting to use AI more and more, but often without clear rules or training. That can bring risks like data security issues or compliance problems. At the same time, he showed us some really practical examples of how AI can help — from tools that simplify language, to chatbots, to forecasting budgets and retail sales. The message was clear: with the right guidance, even smaller organizations can benefit from AI in powerful ways. Curious about his work and background? After the lecture, we all had lunch together and then spent some time as a group working on our blog and social media posts. It was a productive session and a good chance to reflect on everything we’re learning and experiencing.

In the afternoon, we took a trip to Virginia Beach. Some of us couldn’t resist jumping into the water, while others just enjoyed the atmosphere along the shore. We wrapped up the evening with dinner nearby, and before heading back to the hotel, we made a stop at Walmart where we picked up a few souvenirs or small items.

It was a day full of learning, teamwork, and a little bit of fun by the sea.
